USA 93-97 Corolla/Prism Engines

It's my understanding the engines are identical. Why does gates.com (timing belts) show the PRISM (DOHC VIN8) interference engine and the COROLLA (7A-FE) Non interference engine.

Both the 4A-FE and 7A-FE engines are non-interference engines. If they list one as an interference engine and the other as non, they either have a false source or it is just a typeo on their site that hasn't been caught.

USA Gates timing belts

Lists the Prism as interference and the Corolla as non-interference.
