from what I've heard, it should be the same as the 4age. The only real change is the head and the ITB's.

Generally they are interchangable, because the bolt patterning is the same.

Two issues you might run into are:

1) Waterpump pulley not lining up to the crank pulley
2) Part of the waterpump physical body might interfere with another part.

Issues are very easy to solve though, I'm using a AE86 RWD waterpump on my BT 20V. So in my case I'm using the AE86 waterpump pulley with the waterpump because it lines up to the BT's crank pulley. Also I had to slightly grind/file down an external "ribbing" on the pump body to have better clearance against the timing belt tensioning pulley. Other than that, direct bolt on.

Another way to play is I could've used the front half of the hi-comp/redtop's waterpump (AE92) with the AE92 waterpump pulley because it will also line up and work.

Play around with it and have fun, and go with OEM Toyota waterpumps.

thanks for the info, i'm going to go to the dealer near me and see how much they'll charge for a new pump, and see if its cheaper then buying the part at cost, and shipping it from a guy on twincam.

NO!! The dealer cost will probably triple what it would cost you to purchase a waterpump from a local autoparts store....

I think I paid somewhere in the region of $95NZD for my last one, genuine toyota, including shipping. But hey different markets and all that.

Toyota parts are very good quality, better than most aftermarket parts.
