Has anybody on here ever put a 3S-FE into an AE92?
I've done the search thing and haven't found anything on that swap.
What other swaps are reasonably worthwhile beside the 4A-GE?

I've seen a 3SGE/3SGTE done before, same motor family (S series) and if I must say the 3SFE is hardly "worth" swapping into an AE92.
A 3SGE would probably be a little more worthwhile than a regular 4AGE swap, they have more power and torque but they're much harder to find and would end up costing more money.
What cars have the 3SGE?
How much is involved with this swap beyond mounts and wiring?
Does it require any body cutting or will it fit the engine bay?
Modified axles?

The 3SFE would not be your best plan for an upgrade; though still is a great engine.
3SGE is too hard to find, but swaping it into a 2nd gen camry would be sweet.
3SFE>3SGE
The non turbo 2nd gen mr2 has a 3SGE; does it not?
3S-FE would be just great. More power and torque than a 4A-GE. Plus it gives you ample space to put a turbocharger. I installed a 3S-FE into an AE82.
I think he'd probably be better off with a 5S-FE. IIRC, North American cars stopeed getting 3S-FEs in the early 90s sometime. Finding a 5S-FE in okay condition would probably be easier. Besides, if you're going to all the work to throw in a S family engine, may as well go that last extra mile, right?

I think you are right. I was thinking the 3S-FE at first, because I see a lot of them in the junkyard in 2nd gen Camrys.
But has nobody on here done a 3S or 5S into an AE92 swap?

I've heard there used to be a 3sgte swapped ae92 in the GTA some time ago but never seen any pictures. If any one has engine bay pics of this car post'em up.
Go ahead and do the swap with a 3SGTE or a 5SGTE and yeah its been done. It would be a great swap. I checked on price for engine/tranny and its about $1800. You would need to have the axles modified, swap motor mounts, get a custom wiring harness. To get everything done it would probably cost around $4000-$5000. I would talk to Dr. Tweak about the swap, he can direct you as to what exactly you need. He can be found at phoenixtuning.com
4A-FE>> 3S-FE is too much trouble for a ae92. RWD yes, and is a strong reliable engine that you will always be able to find parts for +++ has a bit more torque. But its too insignificant of an upgrade to go through all the trouble for in a FWD.
