USA 97 Prizm with abs-pressure bleed?

Is there any problem with pressure bleeding the brakes in a 97 1.8L with abs. I have read that certain cars with abs should not be pressure bleed. Thanks!

I have ABS on my 01 and I've pressure bled the brakes several times with no problems. Where did you read no to pressure bleed?

USA haynes manual

In reference to normal brake bleeding (pump the pedal, hold) it states if you are working on a Geo Prizm model, this procedure might not completely purge the air from the hydraulic system. A tech 1 tool might be needed to "rehome the pistons".

Alot of manuals have special procedures for ABS cars, but I have never had any problem at all using the normal method on ABS cars, I've done it on my 91 levin about 5 times and its sweet.

So basically just treat it as a non ABS car.

As long as you don't let the master cylinder run dry, you will be fine using conventional bleeding methods on an ABS equipped vehicle.

I read about that in the Haynes manual but it referred to all Prizm models. So what exactly does the Tech II scan tool do? Why would you want to rehone the cylinder if the master cylinder ran dry?
