C52 and C56

*EDIT* i meant to say C160

are they pretty much interchangeable? meaning that any engine that came attached to a C52 will attach to a C160? what about axle lengths? will they have to be modified for most models?

They are interchangeable to a point, I believe the axles will also work. The only problem I believe is the fact that the C160 is longer (extra gear) therefore you need to move one of the mounts on most cars (AE92/101, etc).

Check the Master Corolla Sticky on the top of the Corolla forum, there's a sticky related to C160 transmissions into AE92s.

A c160 will bolt to an A series engine, It won't bolt to an E series engine, as in the 4Efte.

If you want to run a c52 and 4efte combination you'll need to source a c52 from a GT starlet.

(It is apparently possible to put a corolla box onto a E engine, but it requires alot of work and custom fabrication, ie not worth it)
