CEL came on after overheating

car started to overheat. I let it cool off for like an hour. Started it up and drove around then the CEL popped up like 2minutes later and the car started to shake. what could be the problem?

Bring it to AutoZone and have the code read. Perhaps a dead/damaged coolant or temp sensor?

It was probably starting to get hot again. Get the code read and go from there.

do you know why it started to overheat in the first place? Check that code and let us know. I had an oldsmobile, that starterd to overheat, then the check engine light came on and started to shake and it ended up being the waterpump had seized up and made the belt snap that ran the waterpump.
