6 blinks! My distributor is bad

Number of Flashes : 6

System Diagnosis:
No Neg. signal To ECU while Cranking

Trouble Area:
1. Disrtibutor Circuit
2. Distributor
3. Ignitor
4. Starter signal circuit
5. ECU


I have a feeling its something with the distributor. The car warms up to normal temps (HOT) and then dies. I wait for a while for the car to cool and the runs again. Does anyone have a spare one lying around that I can buy off of them? I think the Ignitor is a long shot and so is the starter signal circuit and ECU. Agree? No?

Anyone have any ideas what the distributor 'circuit' is? I mean, if I rip off an entire a distributor from another engine then it includes the circuitry doesn't it?

if i remember right, i think it's the box that goes ontop of the ignition coil.
