Lightbulb New User...Intro/Questions

Hey all. My name is Mike, and I just registered on these forums. I'm not sure if making a whole new topic for myself is a really horrible and obnoxious idea, but I'll see what happens. I live in northern New Jersey, drive a 1999 Corolla (4 cylinder), and love it to death. I'm dying to pump some money into it and get it looking exactly the way I'd like it. It's silver, and I've got a ton of ideas (but sadly, not the funding) for what I want to do to it. I'm a new driver, and just got the car as a gift a few months ago. I'll probably have it all through college, so I'm looking forward to making it my own.

MB Wheels Drifter Rims 16x7 Silver Machined or Gloss Black Machined
I haven't decided if the black rims on the silver car would look good or not. Opinions are welcomed and requested. Also, I'm not sure how much they weigh, or if that's important or not when considering takeoff, etc. And, I'm not sure if the offset is high enough. I definitely don't want the wheels to be sticking out from the sides of my car.

Nitto NT NeogenVR Tires (205/40R-16 83V BLK)
I don't race much, considering the fact that I'm a new driver, but I was told that Nitto makes good tires, and that these specifically would suit my car well.

Wheel Locks
Because I don't really want to lose the brand new rims I'm going to buy.

Momo Stealth or Momo Grand Prix Pedals in Black/Aluminum
These are so expensive, but the nicest things I've ever seen. I think they'd look amazing when lined up with the other Momo stuff I'd like to buy.

Momo Milennium Sport (Gray) Steering Wheel or Momo Evolution Steering Wheel
I like the Milennium better, but I still think they are both really nice.

Momo Black Leather Shifter
I guess I should have said that my car is automatic, but that won't stop me from loving it to death and driving it like there's no tomorrow.

Momo Aluminum Emergency Brake or Momo Carbon Fiber Emergency Brake
I'm not sure if the Carbon Fiber Brake would look better in my car when lined up next to the other silver/black accessories. What do you guys think? I like the Carbon Fiber one better, but that's only when I see it separate from my car.

In terms of interior, I want to get some gauges (or at least a gauge cover) and do something with my dashboard, but I have no idea what direction to take with those.

In terms of exterior, I haven't gotten to doing any research yet, but I'm sure that I want a body kit (side skirts, front and back lips, spoiler), headlights/taillights, and (as I'm told makes the car more fun to drive) sway bars and suspension.

And now for a barrage of questions:
Are the rims going to look good on my car? I know I like them, but I like second (etc.) opinions.
The Drifter rims also say that they're a 4-bolt pattern, but the picture looks clearly like a 5, am I missing something obvious?
I realize that Momo merchandise is expensive, can someone suggest other brands which are almost as aesthetically pleasing but can be purchased for a little bit less money?

I'm sorry if I have posted this where it doesn't belong, but I didn't see a sticky that really allowed for introductions and a request for opinions. If it's that big a deal, I guess the thread should be deleted and I'll try again. All opinions/suggestions/insults are welcomed, as I would really like to hear what everyone thinks. Thanks.

Edit: I doubt I'd be putting a ton of money into a new radio, because I just like to hook my iPod up through the tape deck. However, I might end up getting speakers and an amp to heighten the sound quality.

Edit 2: If it's acceptable, I'll post pictures of my car once I clean it.

Edit 3: Wow, I definitely should have done this in the "Introduce Yourself" forum. Sorry for the huge lack of common sense, guys.

You might want to think about where you are going to college and what the parking arrangements are before you dump a bunch of money into mods. I went to college in an urban area where we had to park outside in a shady area of town. My car was broken into a couple times - once for the stereo and once just for kicks. I quickly learned that having a beater car in college was the way to go since no one would break into it (and no one in the dorm ever asked to borrow it ).

If I had to do it again, I would have saved the money I dumped into cars and spent it on pizza, beer, and girls with low self esteem.

That's an interesting thought, and I have considered it. The school that I've been accepted to already (there are 2 others that I'm waiting on a response from) has on-site parking, so it shouldn't be that big a deal. Given, it is in NYC, but it shouldn't be too big of a deal. I want to put money into this car to make it my own, so I'd probably concern myself with the best way I could achieve every part of my goal, instead of just whether or not I will do it
