Suspension noise

I have noticed a noise that the driver side front strut is making.

I had my 'rolla's suspension replaced last summer with an aftermarket setup consising of Tein H.Tech springs and Tokico HP struts. Rides really nicely, I like it. Problem now is, The driver side front strut makes a grinding noise on hard bumps, like almost like a sqeeking noise, its even worse when I make right hand turns, then even the smallest bumps cause it to squeek. A short while back, I had the car on a lift to change the front brakes. Put it back down after the brakes were done, no more noise. I felt pretty good about it, Drove for about 100 miles, I came to a road which made a hard right, and turned at a little bit higher speed, and I heard a quick bang/pop come from the front suspension, and the squeeking noise came back again, it almost felt like the strut adjusted. I put the car back up on a lift, left it there for a while, came back and took it down drove it, and everything was perfect again, made another hard right, another pop and its doing the squeeking noise again.

I inspected the strut tower nuts in the engine bay and noticed that the passenger side one has double the thread showing then the driver side one does (the one thats making noise) The passenger side one has an inch of thread showing above the lug, where as the driver side one has a quarter inch. But when my friend and I hooked up an impact wrench to the lug and tried to tighten it, it wouldnt budge.

Any thoughts?

the spring might be slightly off...meaning it might not be seated correctly in the strut. mine did that...i just learned to deal with it.

it does sound like you've got a cross-threaded nut or two.
