if your gears are good you can take them off your old open diff and put them on the LSD.
If you want cheap, your talking OEM LSD, which are extremely rare in Canada, but once in a while you'll see one on the forums. Be aware that old used LSDs still fetch $200+ and a rebuild kit is another $200+ CDN, you should also replace the bearings, which can set you back $40-$100, and it takes a skilled hand to setup a diff, so you'll need to get some help with the install. If you drop a good condition diff to a shop it can quickly add up to $500 to install including parts and consumeables ...more if you need pinion bearings, seal and other parts.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, by the time all is said and done, it won't cost you that much more in the end to get something decent, and you won't have to chance doing it twice.
I pulled the axles and 3rd member from my car and took the 3rd member to Toyota, $250 they charged to install the diff and set it up, then I had to bring it home and put it in the housing .... but I had to do it again cause the pinion seal started leaking 6 monhts later... the 2nd time I replaced all the pinion bearings, then all Toyota had to do was tighten the pinion nut to spec and set the backlash, they didn't do a good job, ..so I just finished pulling it out for a 3rd time, and paying a reputable race shop to set it up right.
I wish I rebuilt the entire diff the first time.. with the last guy I went to.
I started out with a pristine OEM LSD for a measily $300 (lucked out) ..but I've probably got over $1k invested in it now.
Just sharing my experience.
