1. what's the best offset if im going to buy rims?
2. what's the best rim size? what's the largest ill fit on my rolla'?
3. what's the bolt pattern of the corolla? is it the same as 4x100?
4. where should it idle at when warm? cause mine is idling at 800-1000 rpm.
5. does anyone have an exhaust system on their rolla'? how do ya like it?
if you can, post some modded corollas. i want to see how a modded corolla look like. here in mn, i've never seen a modded corolla. i have money waiting to go on the corolla and i want to see how it looks like before going this route. i'm also looking at short shifters but can't find any. oh boy. thanks

1. between +38 and +45 (or is it 38-42, cant remember, these are numbers recommended from Ren, Ren get in here foo!)
2. There is no "BEST" rim size, it's all on what you think looks nice. 17s are ok for looks, but as for performance on the 8th gen, i wouldn't go past 16s, btw i have 15s from the oem 14s.
3. Yep, 4x100
4. Between 800-1200. My 1994 does it at 800.
5. I have 2.25" piping all the way from the cat. This is probably the best bang for buck on these corollas, I noticed a difference right away, I also had a fart can put on right after the 2.25. I'll warn you, it's pretty loud from 3k rpms onward, but not too loud that you'll get pull over (so far, i havn't been pull over for my exhaust) Just be sure to keep your resonator and cat on, and you'll be fine, i still have those on. Btw it's freakin loud on the highway at a steady 3200 rpm. Oh yeah, putting in your silencer for the fart can also help from getting too loud.
As for pics of modded 8th gens, google for teh wInnAr! it'll probably get all clogged up if people started posting up all kinds of modded corollas.

thanks for your info mate. i've tried searching for pictures on google and a lot of ebay stuff showed up...so i gave up. i tried cardomain and there aren't much modded corollas. there's a lot of european or japanese corollas. well who ever wants to post pics just post them, doesn't matter what it is that you have on your corolla. sorry but living in mn for 19 yrs, i've never seen a modded 8th gen corolla...haha more like 10 yrs...but yeah just wondering if anyone has anything to share...
on the idling part, it's weird how my 92 idles at 200-400 rpm...it's so damn quiet even though it's rusted. i've always had a love for corollas. i've been from mr2 turbos to celicas to civics to camrys to corollas. i love toyota!
on rims, i think i may go 17s. there's enough clearence for 205/45 tires right? the wheel well doesn't look big to me.

if you are going 17s, i suggest you go as high as 40 profile. i am currently riding 205/40/17 with 17x7 +45mm offset. i regretted it so i have 195/55/15 15x6.5 +42mm offset on the way from tire rack.
i have 2.25" piping all the way and have the TRD muffler. it's a lil loud but you get used to it, i guess. i think there's something wrong if it idles at 200-400rpm....

why do you regret? is the ride bad? how's the ride? is your car dropped? if so how much? lmk cause im thinking about 16x7, 17x7, or 17x8 rims.
17 is too big for ride comfort on an 8th gen. stick with 16" wheels if you enjoy some ride comfort, and if you don't feel like risking dented/cracked/otherwise severely marred wheels. they might look good on the car, but they SUCK on daily commutes.

so what best tire size for 16s? 17s? i dont really care about ride comfort as i will only be driving the car 5 miles a day

i regret it because with 40 series, the profile is so thin that i ended up having to get 3-4 alignments due to pot holes. I've bent two of three of the wheels i have now and it is making road noise because it is slightly wobbling now. i suggest you get at least 50 profile tires if you are daily commuting with that car unless pot holes/etc are minimal where you live.

i live in nyc. nuff said.
minnesota sucks even more...damn potholes!....will 50 series fit good on a 1.8" - 2" drop? will there be enough clearance on the wheel well? damn im asking stupid questions but this car is totally different from my celica or mr2...
18s with possibly coilovers, probably around 2" drop
im guessing 40-50 series should be fine for your car. If you just want looks and dont really care about anything else and $$$ is not a problem. 18s with 40 series will probably look the best, you could probably get away with 35 since you're only driving 5 miles. But, I wouldn't put 18s on my car unless I drop it. I would also suggest puting on a lip kit or body kit if you go that route. Otherwise, slam it 3"+ on 18s FTW! Weeeeeeee.......
