What are these "timing + acceleration mods" that you're talking about?? which probably don't do anything for performance.

What do you want from your engine? Then we may be able to tell you what to do to get there

there's tons of choice it just depend what you want. Example you could get a performance header and a good clutch kit supercharger or turbo etc...

go from the ground up...lighter wheels, good tires, strong suspension (don't forget the sways and strut bar!), upgraded brakes, THEN motor work. a runner is only as strong as the legs supporting him.

2)My mecanic worked the timing(I don't know, I wasn't there with him) on the distributer cap or something like that.

--First, my bad about the AE101 vs. Elantra thing I didn't know you guys don't support racing. Second, yeah you can adjust the acceleration+timing of your car; and yes... it helps to the cars performance.--

Those arent mods those are just basic tune-ups. You cant make the car accelerate faster than the engine can perform. Only thing you can do with tightening the cable is make your gas pedal movement lesser. Which only brings more strain on the cable as you hit WOT before the pedal is on the floor.

As for timing... well... difference theres is really nothing and I dont consider that a mod, unless you actually do and change valvetrain timing by repositioning/adjusting/regrinding cams.

FWD for drift...erm... no, thats just wrong... circuit yes, go for suspension first.
