4AFE Water Pump Replace

1990 Corolla replacing the water pump. Do the timing belt covers have to come off to get the bolts holding the pump on? Autozone site doesn't say you have to, but I can't get it off. It's loose, and I've got 2 bolts out, but it feels like another one is holding it on under the timing belt cover.

Just went back one more time to the Autozone site.

Sure enough, step #5. Remove the No. 3 (upper) and No. 2 (middle) timing belt covers.

Doh! I guess I ought to go ahead and replace my timing belt at this point as well? 135000 miles on the original.

not only the belt, but the tension bearing! a Must!

I think it is about $60 for the bearing...
Napa Auto.. I think I read somewhere they sell a kit.. but anyways, yes the belt and bearing tensioner.. about $80.00 total.

mark the exact place the old bear tensioner is in,, so you don't have to start over from scratch when putting the new one in..
