Cool New Member - 95 Corolla

Hello all.....I am new to this site and decided to join as a member. My cars are:

2007 Saturn Ion 2
1995 Toyota Corolla

I use the ion for driving long trips and going places. My fiancee use it most tho for school and work. So I use my corolla for work and running places.

My corolla is a wine color and has 270,000km on it. It works perfectly!! I just replaced all the brakes last week and done some small work. Only thing left to do is replace the driver's side spring and exhaust manifold is starting to get noisy. I don't want to buy new because it cost way too much. No junkyards around here has those parts either so I'm having a hard time finding them. I'll try to post pics of my car later on.

However, I seem to have a new problem now. I can only press on my fuel peddle probably 25% of the way to accelerate normally. Any more than that, and the car kinda "bogs" out if you know what I mean. It accelerates EXTREMELY slow if you press it pass 25% and sounds like the engine is having trouble keeping up. I'm starting to think it's the fuel pump. I believe it's in the tank on these cars right? Also, where is the fuel filter located? I may replace that if it's in an easy spot.

Thanks again for your help!

Could it be as simple as an air filter?? I just took it out and looked at it. It don't look dirty but when I shone a flash light on it in a dark room, I could not see the light on the wall but could only see the light a little bit on the other side. I took the filter out and just idle the car for a couple of secs and everything seemed soooooooo much better. Ima go the shop later and pick up one and see what that does.

I changed the filter and noticed a big difference, but there still is some hesitation. Not as much as there used to be, but still a bit. My filler hose rusted out a while ago, and I'm pretty sure bits and pieces of rust entered the tank, therefore, I am starting to thing the fuel filter might be partial plugged. Could this cause the hesitation?

I changed my plugs and wires a little while ago. Where is the fuel filter located on this car?

No I mean that the junkyards doesn't have any toyota parts that I'm looking for (spring and manifold). I called everyplace around here with no luck.

I took the car for a long drive last night and I think the hesitation problem is fixed. All I did was change the air filter and what a difference!! The air filter was still pure white, but no light could get through. So $30 later, and the car is running excellent again.
