Question Manifold Wrapping

I have this stupid plate thats acting like a heat shield on the exhaust manifolds. I was wondering if anyone replaced this piece of shit with some sorta of wrapping because I'm losing bolts inside of this stupid plate and scrapped my hands and fingers on this thing enough times. What idiot design a shield to have a nice hole for things to fall into and not fall out through the bottom? Sorry had to rant. Pissing me off big time.

wrapping wont give u any noticable gains and it will rust out ur exhaust manifold faster....

if you take the top heat shield off, just make sure you protect your distributer somehow.. heat from my header melted a hole in my dizzy and cause me some problems..

You mind taking a picture of your dizzy? I wanna compare it with the dizzy I had on it before. Mine didn't have a heat shield and the one I got off of Deep had one.

It would be really interesting to know why all dizzy's don't come with some sorta shielding.

it's normal for a 4ag dizzy to have a heat shield...it's just a metal peice that is under the dizzy..no digi cam so i cant help u there.

header paint will protect it from oxidization and stuff like that...but very little....at least it'll help

Yeah my original dizzy had no shielding. I wonder if this is true with other blue top owners
