Hi all,
I've been a happy Toyota owner for quite some time now, namely with my 1993 Celica. I picked up this Corolla maybe a month ago for $300.
It runs, it has the 4ac

the clutch is totally shot, no dents, but had some rust around the sunroof, gas door, and a hole in front of the passenger rear wheel. No interior to speak of.
So here's the situation: I need to have a car running, and in good enough shape to take on the Dragon Meet in April. The celica runs fine, but the suspension is totally shot, and i'm saving to finish the setup on that, and i won't have the money to finish it to the level that i want, and i don't want to go through it a second time, so that looks like it's out.
The 1977 doesn't even have an engine or tranny, so that's out.
Leaving me with the Corolla. Now, i dont have to pay labor costs, i do the work myself. I need to figure out a decent suspension setup for this thing, preferably under or around $800, which seems doable.
Poly-bushing set seems to go for about $110, I can get Tokico Blues for $190, and get some decent springs and strut tower brace for well within my budget.
Or i can stretch a little and get the K-Sport Pro setup including sway bars for about $850.
Ideas? Anyone have any other better ideas or does either of these sound pretty good?
Thanks in advance for any help, and this is a great site.
