Extended Warranty - 2006 Corolla

I'm about to purchase a 2006 Corolla with 32,000 km from a Toronto Toyota dealership. I'm debating whether or not to buy the ECP (72 / 120,000) I've read many different opinions about whether or not to buy an ECP. My question is what are the sort of problems that Corolla owners have had with their cars and have those problems been those that would be covered under an extended warranty?

Also, how has your experience with Toyota service been?

Any comments appreciated. Thanks.

You didn't say how much they were going to charge you....

I canceled mine at 36K and am now at 66K and just the little nickel dime stuff wouldn't added up to the cost of the warranty...And remember your drive train is warranted to 60K (USA)...

Unless you can find someone out there that can give you a way better deal $$$ then Toyota can I would say no...

But that's just my opinion though...~Radd

Standard warranty would be 3yrs,36,000miles bumper to bumper. The powertrain coverage (engine/tramsmission) would be 5yrs. 60,000 miles. You are pretty well covered even if you don't go with the extended coverage.

90GP

I believe he's thinking life and protection after the standard warranty expires!

Thanks Raddman and 90GP. I've decided not to go with the warranty and save the $1200 and use it if little things do show up after the original warranty expires. I figure I'm already paying a little extra for a better product, so I'll take my chances.
