black smoke???

hello guys, when I first started my car this morning it burns a little oil??? , but only for a few seconds. It has 188,705 miles on it. Is it normal to burn oil when first started.
This the 1st time it happend.

black smoke isn't oil...that's the piston rings going up on you. blue smoke is oil.

sound rich, what color are the plugs,, or maybe your choke is totally out of adjustment..

Black smoke is gas. Does your corolla have a carburator. It may be time to have it adjusted.

every time i start my car blk smokes comes out for a seconds.

Cmon guys, dont freak this poor dude out. Black smoke is to rich, air/fuel adjustment. No biggie. White smoke is head gasket, semi biggie. And blue smoke, your hosed.

my opinion, don't mess with the carb and choke,,, it's to damned hard to get it right if you screw it up..

all my corollas smoke dark blue for a second or two at start up (when been sitting over night). caused by the valve seals being bad so they leak when the car sits for awhile. double check the color, just my $.02
