I know someone posted on here awhile ago what they had to do. They cut the plate that mounts it to the floor. Had to cut a hold in the passenger side of it so the ball on the end has the extra room

Well I would wait if I was you. You won't know how big or where exactly to cut until the tranny is in

just found out that with the 6 speed tranny it usually should come with a TOms short shifter. But im almost positive it wont. A guy posted on one of the toyota forums and said that with the original TOms short shifter that it comes with also has the reverse mode and is very smooth.
