get a nice stereo system with some subs and amps in the trunk, that'll be plenty loud

suggestion 1 - look into the laws regarding exhaust modification in your state. make sure anything you intend to do will be legal - i can't tell you how often people get fix-it tickets for exhaust mods.
suggestion 2 - get something made by TRD. generally TRD exhausts sound better. consider an intake to help open up the airflow a little more (and therefore make it a little louder). you could always get a gutted cat, but those are illegal.

Generally, loud 4-cylinder engines sound like sh*t, especially when revved. Boxers tend to be the exception to this rule, as most Subarus sound awesome.

You need to specify year and trimline etc. of your car. You gave us almost no info.

I know this is from a Supra forum, but take this guy's advice seriously: http://www.supramania.com/forums/sho...d.php?p=230560

yes, our "bucket of frogs" sound is rather unique. you always know when a Subaru with an aftermarket exhaust has gone by.

Cut your exhaust off after the header, that will make it louder.. not powerful, but louder.
