98 a/c install????

i just bought a 98 ve with 100,000, to drive to work. it has no a/c, is it hard to add or install on this car? what do i need to buy can i get the parts from a junk yard?
car does run great however it does use a little oil.
i am also going to change the manual trans oil, the book says it hold 2 quarts, is that correct. iwas going to use synthetic gear oil

2qts correct, can buy parts at junk yard, try using some Engine Restore (silver can) to help cure oil burning, if you want some awesome tranny fluid try GM Synchromesh (available at any GM dealership ex. Chevy, Cadillac, Pontiac)

the auto shop manual (for my 89 Corolla) listed 5 pints (2 and 1/2 quarts). I just replaced mine because I had to pull a seal and replace that. If it were drained all the way make sure you have at least that on hand. better to have too much than too little.

Also, one of those funnels with the built in on/off flow valve and clear hoses is nice. It holds up to 1 quart. Walmart sellls them for a few bucks.

I think adding AC would be more hassle than it's worth. You would need to add the condenser, compressor, accumulator and hoses, evaporator plus the electronics. Does your engine wiring harness have the connectors for the A/C? If not, add that to the list.

If the car isn't a daily driver, it might be a fun project. If you depend on it, you may want to rethink it.

If you do decide to go for it, I have an extra climate control panel from my 98 that I would let go cheap.
