got a few questions..

1) can i use everything from a SC aw11 on the GTS? like ecu and can i use the harness from the 4AGE?

2) if i don't want to cut a hole in my hood cuz of the intercooler on top... what can i do to rearrange the intercooler? and where will i find these parts?

3) what else would i have to worry about?

4) is 1700 for a 13B considered cheap?

Answer to your questions:

Yes you can use everything off the MR2 SC, but you must cut and splice in more wire to extend the harness. Some people say it's more practical to use a stand alone engine management system since all of it is going out anyway.

You have to fabricate some intercooler piping to front mount the intercooler, as well as turn the throttle body elbow forward and the SC outlet pipe forward.

If you wanna take a look at my setup... you can check it out sometime when I get it back on the road in the spring.

Other things to consider...

-custom bracket for power steering pump, or delete power steering
-water pipes
-vaccum lines
-throttle cables
-external thermostat housing
-relocating your windsheild washer tanks
-fuel pump
-engine brakets to sit engine lower to clear strut tower brace

any mechanic who can tig weld should be good enough to make an intercooler pipe. It just all depends on price.

yup, you can get vacum line from crappy tire.

you don't really have to fabricate much with the vaccum lines, just a few feet for the boost guage and the ABV modification if you're going to run higher than stock boost. (See MR2SC.COM)

Even a muffler shop can help you make some IC pipes.

why would extending the wiring harness be a pain or hard to do?
its simple, crimp to crimp
crimp to crimp
crimp to crimp
wire to wire
they are all colour coded, its not like you gotta figure out what they do, you just gotta extend wires!
It'd be a lot easier than going to a stand-alone, think about it. with a standalone you gotta figure out what wires are what, and then connect them accordingly to the ecu.
if you really wanna wrig it, you don't even have to get it to go into the actual cabin, just bolt the ecu into the engine bay, and enclose it, simple, and nothing to extend

just use sheet metal to surround it. and keep it away from anything that produces alot of heat (ie: exhaust manifold)

if you want to go super nerdy technocraft, you could use an aluminum cover/box because aluminum resists heat alot better than stainless or steel fro that matter.

hold on, you might have to worry about moisture getting into the ecu.
hmm

you still have to extend wires like the ones that go to the dash, and the gas tank if you put the ECU in the engine compartment. Keep it in the passenger cabin.

and if you want a really dependable system, don't just crimp, do it right, quality soldering, with one or two layers of heatsink and moisture repellant. Ya could go the extra distance like yasin and move all the relays into the cabin as well. That way ya get to here the 'click' the instant before the SC engages...cool.

Neil
