Okay since my thread about me thinking i needed injectors got shot down due to me thinking i needed added gasoline to hope my engine that i'm gonna build doesn't blow up..and you all seem pretty knowledagable on here i was wondering if someone would give me a slite list of parts that would get a 16V "red top" to 150-160rwhp...and would it pay for me to buy an F-Con iS to tune or not?? all input muchly appreciated thankx to any and all who give me info thankx!!!!

i think it's stickied up here, if not, try asking Ren or the other guys with ae92. I remember someone listed it on here. It ranged from 100-200 whp and the author tells you how he/she would achieve it, pretty neat.

I'd say

-Exhaust(Headers, high flow cat, sports muffler)
-Air filter
-cams with aftermarket ECU(higher than 256deg cams will need it)
-add a JDM MAP sensor conversion in the mix and easily hit the 160hp mark.

BTW the MAP sensor conversion will work with the smallport, not the big port.

Are we talking about the 4A-GE 16V motor?

Link

I don't think its possible unless you upgrade internals for NA or if you go forced induction. Not sure about hitting 150-160hp to the crank with the simple bolt ons but not 150-160 to the wheels. Why would turbo make people look retarded?

in 2001, i was supposed to rebuild my 16V bigport with dual 45 weber side drafts. bumping up compression, using high rise headers, higher duration cams. my main goal was about 150hp. upon reviewing what i was getting into i've realized that by the time i hit my goal, my set-up will be unstreetable. will have rough idling, very loud car, fuel consumption won't be where i want and lastly, it'll take a lot and i mean A LOT of cash. so i went and swapped a 20V instead. it came out as a better choice. not too loud (unless you floor it), fuel consumption is great, idles like a bnew car (my car is an 82), unique (at least back in 2001) and i was closer to the 150 i was looking for which is more than enough for a car which used to have 58 original horsepower from factory.

but if you ask me.. go turbo!
