Has anyone ever ridden/owned/driven/seen a 20v in action?
i'm curious to know about how that thing pulls...toyota rates it at 160ps but i read that it's more like 140hp in real life
even so, i'm sure that with the quad throttles and vvt it probably has a much more useable power band than the high comp 4ag and probably kills it on the high end
so any experiences anyone?

i rode in a 93 celica st (crappy states 4afe celica=st) and a guy had swapped in a 4age 20v black top and he did a full exaust setup and the car hauled ass and yes it had good high-end torque

It will, but it would have to be the silvertop, not the blacktop. The silvertop rev's less because it has heavier internals. The blacktop wouldnt be good for turboing because of the light internals, might not be able to withstand the added stress.

I wasnt saying you couldnt turbo the blacktop, but you cant do it reliably with stock internals. You can run a stock 4A-FE with around 12-15psi boost pretty much reliably. You might want to take a look at the list of parts changed in the blacktop, I dont read japanese, but I'm sure it has pistons in there aswell.

i wonder why they DON'T show up if the motor is as fast as some people claim them to be.
listen. there's a 86er in this forum that's doing that swap right now
his words, not mine, is that he'd be HAPPY with 130 at the wheels.
i dont think a silvertop is capable of doing that in stock form
but i'm here to find out!!

I say fuck this dicussion, its pointless. Shaun, do the fuckin' swap and track that bitch. Your motor is down on compression as it is and you can get the motor/harness/ecu for less than the price of a tits-out highcomp. Do it up bro, and if you need a hand, gimme a call.
