Redline for corolla is usually in the 6000rpm range.

Redline on my 1997 Corolla 1.8 DX is at 5800.

If you have the 1.6 (4A-FE) motor the redline might be similar to my old's 89 Corolla motor that is also 1.6 (4A-F) except this is not EFI. Redline is at 6200rpm.

I think it should be save to set the redline at 6000rpm.

This is the stock location for the North American Models. Some asian models has the sterio below the A/C and heating controls. This is because the asian model has guages going accross the entire upper portion of the dash.

Shouldn't the tach come with installation instructions?
Did you already get it?
If you didn't my advice is to forget it. You don't need a stupid after market tach for an auto Rolla. Spend your money on something worth while for your car like a car wash or some nice tires. I hardly even look at my tach unless I am redlining the car and I drive a stick...
If you already got it but it doesn't have instructons, then contact the manufacturer for instrucitons on installation. Go to their website and send an Email.
Chris
