Help Please! Passenger Mirror Impact

Hi.

Well, this is my first time posting on an Auto Forum so forgive my lack of "car speak" knowledge....okay that said, I was wondering if anyone could help me with a couple questions. (Oh, I did do a search of the forum but couldn't find what I needed.)

Anyway, long story made short - I was side swiped by some old fart in a beat-up old truck the other day. I was stopped at a red light and this guy just blazed by me at 40mph and tore the passenger side mirror off my 05 Corolla CE. The impact sent my poor mirror flying about 15 feet in the air before it crashed unceremoniously onto the pavement.
Nice.

I ordered a replacement mirror on eBay for a good price and it will be here really soon. I have read that I need to pull the door panel off to be able to access the triangle speaker, which is what I really need to remove to be able to replace the mirror. Yes? Okay, now here is where the "dumb girl" questions start....I know, I know, please forgive me.

Since my mirror was not removed but literally torn off, I now have full length exposed wires without the white connector piece to plug in the new mirror. Also, I read that if I was simply replacing the mirror I would unscrew 3 screws that are used to mount the mirror. Well, the screws were still in the mirror. The tabs were just sheared off and went for a sail with the mirror on impact. So, do they sell some kind of replacement mounting bracket? I have no idea what it looks like inside? Do they sell that white plug or can I do the idiot thing and use electrical tape or wire nuts to splice the wires together again?
(I know, the shame of asking such a question! )

Oh, one more question (I promise!) someone told me that the door panel is held in with these white plastic clips and if you pull on them to remove the panel I could snap them off and then I would be, well - you know and that I would need this special tool. So, how do I safely remove the door panel without breaking these clips? Do I need a "special" tool or is that a bunch of ...?

Okay, I think I covered all my questions. Thank you to who ever manages to make it this far in my post! Hahaha. So any help at all I would sincerely appreciate very much. I know I can do this but I don't want to screw anything up further.

Thanks so much!

Depending on the severity of the rippage of the mirror from the door it might not be required to take out the door panel. Also depending on the replacement mirror you got, it should come with the mounting kit as in direct replacement from the stock. For the wiring, how badly torn are they? If they are still working you can just extend the wiring.

If you do need to take off the door panels, they are held by screws and the white clips as mentioned. They don't break easily if you are careful with them, slow movements with a lil bit of force. If they do happen to break just take them out (with help of plyers if its torn in half) and get new ones from your local Toyota dealer or Autozone/Pepboys (cheaper).
