Full Engine Oil Servicing???

OK! MY COROLLA HAS 75K miles on it... and I want to do a full oil sevicing...

Uhh... I'm gonna clean flush the oil, drop the pan and clean it "thoroughly" put it back on and put some Mobil1 oil and filter plus my buddy told me "but he drives a TransAM so I'm not sure." to add RESTORE to stabilize the oil and make it last longer also to clean the remaining acids in the crankcase...

MY QUESTION IS...

Do I need to buy a new gasket for the pan and a new "O" ring to complete the job?
or is it OK just to keep the old stuff there?

thanks and also about that RESTORE thing does it really help?, coz he went to the store with me and told me to buy it so just wanna make sure if it will help a bit.

Personally I would just change the oil and filter on a scheduled basis. Modern oils keep the engine real clean if changed regularly. I would also be concerned if the engine was “dirty” an additive like this would break loose what crud these was in the engine and allow it to plug oil passages.

I wouldnt use additives, they're often the cause for major problems.

and no, no use dropping the pan.. just do a regular oil change and its good.

This is for your 03 Corolla correct? Its not necessary to take off your oil pan but if you do change the gasket. Oil additives do not help, similarly to seafoams (some have good experience but some don't). Please slap your friend for me since what he is suggesting may apply to his car but not yours.

Restore is more for burning oil than anything (they claim a lot on their silver can, but there reeally only good to help slow / stop, if your lucky, burning oil.) Dropping the oil pan is definetly not necessary, your more likely to cause a problem dropping the pan then to just let it be. If you want to do something nice for your car try changing the oil now, and then again in 500 miles. Get a magnetic drain plug too

75k miles? Ours has 140,000. I'd say stick with a regular oil change. Save the full service for 100K
