USA 2007 Corolla Front Seats

Hello,

I am new here. I have been looking at the Corollas for about 20 years now. I have owned nothing but Fords since 1980.

I have test driven several 2007 Corollas and love the look, speed and smoothness of the car. It seems like the engine and transmission are a perfect match. I have heard nothing but positive things about Toyotas and would like to buy one as my next vehicle.

The problem I have is with the front seats. They seem a little short and my thighs hurt after driving for a period of time. I tried adjusting the seat, etc., but it didn't seem to help that much. I am 5'9" and weigh 160 lbs.

I rented a 2007 Corolla for two days to put it through the paces and I love the car except for the front seats. Is there anything I could purchase to help with thigh support? Will the 2008 Corolla address this issue?

Please help. I am willing to wait for the 2008 model if the seats will be better.

I am sorry about the multiple threads. My computer froze up and I thought only one posted.

You can switch over to the 05-06 Corolla XRS seats which should be a direct bolt on. You can also try ones from the Matrix. Aftermarket seating is also an option, it will require custom brackets which are model specific. As for the 08, can't comment since they aren't avaliable for me to tinker with.

Are these seats better than OEM in the 2007? Are they better for thigh support? Do they have longer seat cushions? Is there an aftermarket product that you can put on the existing seats that will aid in support. Please explain. If the front seats were more comfortable, I would own a Corolla now.

I have owned a 04 Corolla S in the past and XRS now for 2.5 years. Yes, XRS sport seats are stiffer and have more thigh support (cushion extends further out) and bolstered pads around the thigh and shoulder blade area. It also has a height adjuster as well (my 2004 S did not have it, but I am not sure if the 05 and newer 1ZZs had this feature).

Depends on how much money you want to spend, you can look at aftermarket seats as well.

Thanks for the information. Any opinions on the memory foam seat covers? Would this help with thigh support. See link below:

Yea, they are more geared towards performance and going lateral . You will feel more support from them. But getting your hands on a pair of them would be a tough task. Only sure way would be to sit your ass on them . I've sat in them before and they were more supportive than my 03 Corolla S.

If you've lied in one of those memory foam you would have your answer. They only provide comfort, not so much on the support.

Thanks to everyone who responded to this thread. Do any others here have problems with the Corolla seats? Is it just a matter of adjusting the seat to find a comfortable position? Does it take a few days or so to find this?
