Did you regain brake pressure when you shut the engine off?

With engine on does the brake pedal travel decrease (braking get better)? Things that cause low brake pedal are excess rear drum/shoe clearance, air in mater cylinder or brake lines, fluid leaks, worn master cylinder, brake pads sticking on anchor plate surfaces. Have someone watch the front pad braking action when pressing the pedal. Make sure the caliper pistons and pads are moving as a unit.

Exclamation

Bleeding brakes takes practice and knowledge. Sound slike there is still air in the line... do the manual bleed mtheod with 2 people. Buy a large 32 oz. bottle of brake fluid. If you don't know the manul method, I am sure someone can expalin it. I need rest right now.

update

ok it seems my orginal rotors were too well worn to turn, so i bought some new rotors and we proceeded to bleed the brakes. the pressure came back. we will be dong my rear shoes next week. my question is my brakes are burning after a while. wtf causes that? we cleaned the new rotors with brake cleaner. is it that crap just burning off? cause i thought that shit dried pretty fast?

Did you lubricate the slide bushings in the caliper to see that they operate freely? If not you may have a caliper hanging up on the rotor.

a sticky caliper would cause burning brakes.

I highly recommed http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/w...13&R=200310613 for bleeding brakes
