ok, today i changed the taillight assembly, as it was completely smashed out and before i changed it, the light would come on when i pushed the brakes, and was working perfectly. After i changed the assembly, the light wouldnt come on, its the weirdest thing b/c i didnt even touch a single bulb when i changed it! help??????
I had the same problem check to see if you blew a fuse...also if the car constantly blows everytime you press on the brakes put a higher amp fuse in it and it will take care of the problem. Atleast it did for me...
If you look at the kick panel on the drivers side you where your left foot would be if you were driving there is a little piece you can take off that covers the fuse box. On the other side of the plastic cover is a diagram that has all the fuses telling you which one is which i believe its a 15 that says "Stop" which refers to stop lights ect. Remove the fuse that is in that place on actual fuse box then check to see if it blew (Broken center metal piece=Broken; non broken=fine) I shoved a 30 AMP fuse in that sucker and they light up crystal clear ( Not recomended can cause electrical fires if there is a short some where...smoke= short which means it can easly be located otherwise you can try really hard to find your short.
well....that would work perfect....except for one problem; we lost the fuse cover YEARS ago, so theres no way for me to tell the labels of the fuses..can anyone tell me which fuse it would be on a ''grid'' or something (like, top/left, or second to bottom/center...etc)?? or can someone take a pic and show me which one it is plz??
plz dont give up on this thread!!! i kouldnt find any diagrams or anything of the fuses....theyre nowhere online, and theyre not even in the repair manual...can someone give me one? or take a pic of their fuse cover so i kan see what goes where??
trying to re-fresh the thread w/out starting a new one!!
heyyy heyy, i just re-tested the car's lights, and i found that the Tail lights still DO come on when u turn on the headlights...but the BRAKE lights still dont come on, can anyone tell me what that is? i dont think thats a fuse problem...

when you switch the headlight on the rear light will switch on at the same same time .
now when you press the brake light you say the the light does not work !! yes .
well if you check the rear break light globe ,you will find the globe will have two elements inside it see if one of these elements are broken . question are both brake lights off when you apply the brake ?
question are both brake lights off when you apply the brake ?
yes....but the left tail/brake lights are out/off because the bulb is burnt, but the one on the right still has both bulbs in it, but still wont come on when i push the brake.
and the elements inside it are fully intact.

First replace the duel element globe with a known working one
then check the fuse ( front right kick pannel ) there is a also a fuse box in the engine bay )
check the oriantation of the duel element globe as well .
please Note some times the element at sight looks unbroken but the contact below the globe may be fractured ,you will need a contunity tester or remove the globe and attach wires to it and plug it to the batt to test . its only 12v it wont hurt you .ok.
but it DOES work...it comes on, just not when i press the brake...
ok . when you turn the head light or the parking light on the globe will be lit the second element will be off on the same globe will be off until you apply the brake . . easy to test this switch off the headlight and the parking light and apply the brake does the globe work ? have you tested both elements ? it seem me there is a high possiability the second elelment is fused ,even though the second element appears to be intact . do you have a multimeter you can test the power points to the globe attachment area .just above the brake peddel the switch for the brake is located check to make sure this switch is intact and connected and or the wire is not unhooked to this switch .
in parking mode the light will lite when you press the brake the second light element will light
tell me ,,switch off headlight and parking light and press the brake does the brake light work ,if not change the globe
