tensioner, etco

okay why is it that corolla have this notorious leak on the timing chain ternsioner.. and how does that work and what does it do.. is it the rubber seal on the tensioner that leaks. also why do u have to lock it before putting it in.. i don't see how it work as a regular tensioner pulley..


also the steering shaft. when replacin it how to do so.. like what does the steering shaft do. is it when u turn the wheel it makes the wheel turn all the way back to center position.. and why does it throw the alignment way off even though u lock the steering wheel and also tie the seatbelt to the steering wheel..

the one that came with timing chains and for the steering shaft doesn;t matter.. any toyota..care to explain please? thanks
