doesn't charge, Battery light DOES NOT come on.
This one has me a bit baffled, my '85 corolla stopped charging, however the Battery/Charge indicator light does not come on to indicate the alternator is not producing. The white wires to the battery and rest of the positive side of the electrical system show continuity, the alternator is well grounded, the light in the charge indicator is good, all fuses are good (I've triple checked everything) the alternator that I replaced 6 months ago bench tested OK, but I replaced it anyway just to be sure. I'm still left with a system that won't charge, and yes the Battery will hold a charge if the car is left to sit, however the car is drawing from the battery when running (alternator does not kick in). Anyone else ever run into these symptoms?
All the wiring diagrams I have are kind of iffy since the colour coding isn't quite the same as the wiring I'm looking at, also they cover multiple version (US, California, Canada – Gasoline/Diesel). If someone has a wiring diagram specific to the Canadian Market gasoline version of the '85 Corolla it would be appreciated, it would be especially nice if it indicated accurate locations of fuse boxes, relays and other components.
