New Ride!!!! Sorry guys sold the corolla and went to the dark side PICS!!!
So i sold the corolla since the tranny took a crap. My car sat up for about 5-6 months easy not being started or anything. She started up after one crank and took a few moments to idle properly. So after getting tired of people promising to help me fix/change the tranny i borrowed my aunts car and made a trip to the junk snatched a 3 spd auto from the geo prism and changed the tranny myself and after a broken pinky finger and wrist i was able to get the car modile again. I decided to sell it right away. Since i only paid 100 bucks for the tranny at one of those "U-Pull-It" joints I used the extra money to do a full "overhaull" I changed most of the gaskets/seals (includng head), did a complete engine flush. Carried my starter back to discount auto and got a new one(warranty), new alternator(warranty)got a new battery from walmart(warranty), new brake pads(warranty as well...lol). So basically i got all these replaced for nothing since they were all stil under warranty, unless you count the time and effort involved in driving around. so i sold it, and since tax time came around i got a fat refund and bought a 95 Acura Integra RS. I got it at an amazing price from an older pregnant lady who needed money for a Van. So i got it for 2k flat.......
Here's my old car w/ 18" TSW rims toyo proxes wrapping them dropped with TRD springs on KYB struts
Here is the same car on 15" American racing rims(very nice and comfortable ride, when i bought these a few years back i got em for literally 100 bucks with good tires on them, till this day the best deal i ever got on anything)
Here is the new car 95 Integra RS w/ AEM tru-time Gears, Skunk2 Stage 2 Camshafts w/ full valvetrain upgrade(skunk2 titanium valve springs & retainers), hayden transmission oil cooler. here is a pic of when i first got it
I must admit that after adding the cam gears and ESPECIALLY the camshafts, the car has a real nice kick. With the different in the lift/duration....almost feel like "vtec" kicks in....lol. But seriously she does pull real hard, and the 4 speed auto shifts like butter after the tranny warms up good.
Here is a pic with some GSR Blades i just scored for another decent price...
Not the car I'd buy, but as long as you're satisfied with it it's cool.
So when is the engine swap due?
Meh i dunno. Unlike the Toyota swaps, those honda swaps are pretty expensive. I was looking at a gsr engine and they go for almost 2k easy w/o tranny. I honestly was just going to go all internals since i already did the valvetrain, i'm thinking of upgrading the bottom end and maybe just run high compression or if i'm brave enough the infamous "ls/vtec" conversion.
It's definitely not the corolla as far as gas mileage but it's still cool nonetheless. Honestly i would have loved to go the toyota route but since i can get a levin coupe or starlet gt turbo where i'm at my search had to move into a different realm. I was thinking about getting a 240sx but the money didn't permit.......in any event my MAIN GOAL was to have a reliable car that gets me from point A to B, and this car is doing the job very nice......
Cant go wrong with a Honda either man. The cars are bullet proof, just like a Yota Another nice thing about Honda / Acura is that they have huge and I mean huge support forums. Check out www.Honda-Tech.com and www.TeamIntegra.com . You will find more then you ever wanted to know between those two sites, and if you run into a problem and have to ask, its more than likley been asked before there.

Toyota and Honda are only bullet proof to a point.. If you take care of them they last. Most people who have the integra's, civics, celicas.. and so on POUND the crap out of them. Nice thing about my corolla is when I do that once the motor goes I spend $300 - 400 and bam new motor to drop in LOL

Well it's true. The problem with things like civics and integra's is that people buy them.. Think they are invincible.. avoid regular oil changes... beat the crap out of them.. and thet bitch when the motor starts going through oil like no tomorrow...

I have to agree, which is why i was sort of careful who i bought the teg from. It was all stock when i got it. As soon as i got it i changed oil/flushed engine, flushed coolant, changed/flushed transmission fluid, changed spark plugs/wires(NGK everything ), changed brake pads and bled brake lines...... car ran nice before but runs beautifully now. if you look at tranny fluid it's a nice red color and oil is honeycomb color, I've been checking both periodically since when i changed them(about a month/600 Miles ago). The car won't be beat on at all, it'll just be the cleanest grocery getter on the strip.....
I still say they make one hell of a car. Stock the civic will out perform the corolla, I'd say once the eg6 came out till present. Look at the crx :O what a light ass little car. I used to want an integra but when I was looking they were out of my price range.
My ONLY issue with owning a honda is the fact that doesn't matter if it's an accord, civic, intgra, so on... They are EVERYWHERE.
