AE92 A/C makes engine HOT

Hello Corollas...
Last year during the last days of the 90 degree weather in Texas, my A/C was making my temperature go past the halfway point. So I turned it off cuz that didn't look good... does anyone know why it would do that? Low freon? I need repairs? etc...

Without acrtually being there with my hands in your car I couldn't really tell you. Remember this using A/C puts an additional load on your engine, you may have cooling issues. My old car had cooling problems. I needed to replace the Radiator because my old one was leaking. When was the last time you did a reverse flush on your cooling system?

In addition to checking the cooling system, check that both electric fans are operational. On mine I notice they operate at two sppeds. Lower when temp gauge is below the halfway point and at a faster speed when gauge goes above the halfway point. Maybe yours isn't operating at the faster speed. There should be two sensors to make the fans trigger at those two speeds.

My thermostat sensor was faulty

Can i just remove the sensor and always set it to high speed? Any caveat to this?
If this is ok, how do I do this?

Thumbs up ...

Thanks... i was busy with finals so im late to reply but I'm going to check out the fans now that I'm done... and then afterwards the radiator... GOOD idea about rigging it to make the fan always go fast... especially since im about to endure 110 degrees again... if anyone knows they should tell us..

Thanks a lot guys, i was going to have my a/c systems inspected... but yall saved me a lot of money i believe...
