I own a 1997 ae111 toyota corolla, with a 4afe engine, and I was wondering if there where any light mods to do for more umpf... I dont have the opportunity/money/facilites/know how for an engine swap just yet, so I was thinking of a way to get the most of my old engine first.
I was thinking of installing a turbo from a toyota liteace, if that is possible

Toms turbokit would be a viable option.... You can ask the price from the tom's shop in kilton motors. You're from makati or not? Its on the other side of pasong tamo if you're coming from ayala center. Easy way to get there is to go in Sen Gil Puyat avenue and then turn left after pasong tamo, before you go under the skyway.
nah, its not impossible.
Expensive yes, but not impossible.
People build high-performance 4age n.a engines, So doing a 4af, 4afe, 7afe motor shouldnt look all that bad. people just hear the f and fe head and assume its usless... its not
Unless you are really keen on keeping the original engine in the car, it would make more sense to start out with an engine that has more potential for easier power gains, say for instance, a 4AGE 20V or 3SGE which has more aftermarket support.
I have yet to see someone with a highly tuned 4A/7AFE.
t would be almost impossible to build a high-performance naturally aspirated 4A/7A-FE.
LOL thats really a bunch of crap.
4A-GE 20V has little aftermarket support anywhere except UK and Japan and few countries with RHD. As for potential, its there, but people are too blind to see it, because they just concentrate on the common modifications.

To back up the estimated power figures of the 4AFE, here's an example. As fate would have it, a friend of mine overseas has built an engine almost identical to what I will be building. It's in an off-road buggy and on an engine dyno it has made 248hp at 9,000rpm.
Thats NA tuning for you doubters. And as far as I know, thats with the 1st gen head.
