XXX 4age black top questions

i plan on getting just the 4age engine without the tranny or ecu........can i still use my tranny and ecu from my 4afe....untill i get the transmission and ecu, harnesses and all the other stuff......????

Simple answer: No. 16v ECU will not run the 20v. The tranny will fit though. They are exactly the same unless you get your hands on a 6 speed...

Spud.. In north america the 4AFE's came with the C50 transmissions, not the C52s like they did in Australia, so yeah the transmission would fit but I wouldn't want to run a blacktop with the C50 gear ratios, it be like having a 10spd bike but only using 2 of them.

drz4agecorolla, you can't really use the harness from the 4AFE on the 20V, if you did you would end up hacking that harness and adding more wiring to it, in the end you'd be better off finding the right harness OR having someone build you one for the 20V.

You don't need the ECU for the 20V, you can always go with an aftermarket ECU but they're usually a lot of money ($1000 or more) so you'd probably be better off finding an OEM ECU.
