Door Ajar on 97 Corolla - Toyota Nation Forum : Toyota Car and Truck Forums

Guys.
My left passenger side door triggers the " door ajar " warning. The door locks, yet doesn't engage the switch. The switch works too. When I push the door in it engages the switch and while travelling it opens slightly to trigger the " door ajar " warning.

What can I do to fix this ?

For your expert advise please.

Sounds to me like it's the switch, not the door. My old GTS used to do that when I was on the road, the switch would turn the light on because the cabin pressure while driving was messing it up. Change the switch before you think it's actually the door, unless you can actually see the door opening.. then I would change the car.
