lightweight rims?

i was interested in purchasing lightweight rims for my 2001 Prizm... was wondering if its worth it to shell out about $400 or so to get some rims that weigh about 12lbs each (without tires)....

was wondering how good this would improve acceleration on the car since it doesn't have to spin a heavier wheel...

Any loss in unsprung weight is a good thing. If your going for performance I would rather save it and get other parts.

Well, I do competitive autocross and the lightweight wheels do make a lot of difference in acceleration. I use 16x6.5 size.

SSR Competition - 11.5lbs
Motegi Racing Traklite - 12.1 lbs

I've not seen any Volk Racing Gram Wheels for my size but these are some of the best lightweight wheels you can get for a street car.
