93 corolla question

[gf has a camry]

my friend swears his 93 corolla is blazing fast for some reason...i think its the 1.8 he says and he just got it repaired..so anyways he swears that his fully repaired motor with the following mods makes 0-60's in the 7's


* OBX header bought off ebay
*Matrix muffler
*gutted cat
*cheap free intake with Matrix cone filter

he used to barely beat a sonoma that i could beat by 5 cars spinning the tires dirty off the line...he also swears when he gets a high flow cat and chip he will rock me...BTW im in a reg cab s-10 V6 with filter, flowmasters, programmer and about 3x's the torque....also about how much hp u think he gained...we all predicted about 5-7 total at one point seeing as he only has garbage products

Yah guy you're right on the money. The best thing he has is the header but with stock piping between that and his muf. he is not getting much... His cat and "chip" (There is no real chip for the 93-97 Corollas) are not gonna get him any more.
Stock he is 115 HP and Tq. With these mods maybe 120 or 125 MAX and that's pretty generous. I would be surprised if he broke 3 digit wheel horse power IF he's got a stick. If he has Auto, he probably has like 95 whp. Peace
