thermostat removal

ok i was wanting to know if i remove my thermostat from my engine till fall will everything be ok.......basicly is this safe...because the past 3 weeks its been around 100 here and every now and then my engine will run slightly hot...usally it will happen around long distances going about 80..(4000 rpm)...or when i have my air on and im stuck in trafic...the thermostat is new , so is the waterpump...well really 5 months old, only reason i havent run redline water wetter is because my radiator leaks but its very slow now...i havta add coolant around every week

btw i run a 70/30 mix of prestone

the thermostat (when closed) just helps warm up the engine faster, lots of cars get their thermostats stuck open in summer and they don't notice until it hits -20C, then they complain that its slow to warm up

if you take out the thermostat for the summer, well it'll take a bit longer to warm up the engine that's all

70/30 is the best mix of coolant, it'll give you the coldest freezing point, but i'm not sure its the most effiecient at temperature exchange

you might want to toss in some of that coolant system plug up stuff, my buddy couldn't run his car 20 minutes the leak was so bad, put that shit in, works great

as long as the engine's not overheating i wouldn't worry about it too much, it is hot and there's a lot of charge on the engine, another thing, is your rad fan working?
