Check Engine light not working

Hello there,

I hope you guys can help me here. I just bought a used corolla AE92 and I noticed that the CEL is not ON when you try to start the car. I've check the bulb and it is still OK. What else could be the problem.

Might not even have that feature... dunno about others, but I never bumped into an AE92 with a check engine light.

It's more of a little figure of a motor that lights up, both my cars have them.

My mates ae92 has one also.

Is your car EFI or carbed? because i've never seen a carbed ae92 with a CEL.

It is EFI engine. (4A FE). Is there a way to check whether this is any signal to this CEL .
