Some Random Ass Sensor

edit: i honestly have no clue what sensor it was, i googled pics but couldn't find one of it lol...

--------

ok... so i moved my air intake (again) i would post pics but can't find any site that doesn't have a stupid bandwidth limit/view limit....

the hose for my Oxygen Sensor(i think thats the one) won't reach... so i just don't have it hooked up lol

(the hose runs from the back of the firewall, to the sensor, then the sensor plugs into your ait intake)

have the bigger fat one hooked up(if its not your car won't run)

the whole entire "piping" is custom made out of a rubber tube and a 90degree PVC elbow lol

runs nice as hell, just wondering what that sensor does and how neccesary is it?

Are these hoses really a wiring harness tube? If it is wires, the sensor in the intake could be for air temperature. The ECM uses it compute the air/fuel ratio.

thats the sensor

a small rubber hose connects to the left side of that that leads to the back of the engine bay onto some small pipe thingy

and the right side of it goes into the intake

This looks like an electric solenoid valve (VSV). 12V DC electric power is applied via the wires to the green solenoid. The solenoid opens a valve that connects the two plastic ports together (places where hoses would slide on).

This should have been connected into something like a vacuum circuit. Did you reconnect the hoses and bypass this valve?

yes, this valve is completely bypassed, just wondering how crucial it is to my car...

the vacuum circuit would be my intake tube?

im goiing to drill a hole to make that fit, but dont have the hose yet.. its on order at pepboys lol

mine just idles about 1400-1600rpm, it's annoying. I'll go take a look at it (I'm at work + the boss is hardly ever around+ light load today= time to do a few things)
