filling up at the gas pump

2003 toyota corolla, whenever I fillup at the gas station the car starts but will not idle. after about 6 attempts the car will throttle, and the problem never happens again until the next visit to the pump.There is no CE

Turn your gas tank cap until it cliks when your done fueling. Please reply if this worked.

Tried that, replaced cap, did not work, in any case the Ce light would come on if cap was not fully tightened

Check your fuel filter. Maybe you're stirring up some sort of crud in the tank that's blocking fuel flow until it settles.

maybe the pump is located in the tank and for some reason, when you fil it the fuel upsets some component in the fuel tank.
