1993 DX AC problem

Just got a 1993 corolla DX, Ac blows hot air, the compressor is not working, but the previous owner said, it is just a switch not the compressor. How can i check that. please help

Run a temporary jumper wire from the positive battery terminal to the wire going to the compressor clutch coil. If the compressor turns and sound fine, chances are, the compressor is good. Don't run it for too long wired this way. Because the compressor is protected from coming on when the refrigerant level is low, you may just be low on refrigerant.

yea if it's low on refrig. and since it's a 93 it might still be R12, be cheaper to retrofit unless u know someone that's willing to give up som R12 for cheap
