Air filter

Well my 04 is getting to 20,000 and will need a filter for the first time. I noticed in Walmart they sell the Fram brand and have a filter available for the Corolla. Should I get this or go to the Toyota dealer and get a Toyota one?

Is a filter the same no matter what brand?

Diane

Toyota Air filters are better than Fram.

Stick with either Toyota or get a wix brand (NAPA gold, Carquest) filter
Fram hasn't been good since they were bought by autolite

Purolator is supposed to be good as well from what I hear. I use Purolator oil and air filters in mine.

I went to change my air filter a few weeks ago and I noticed the old filter was still clean all around. So I kept the old filter in and will change it later on this summer.

Then I moved on to the cabin air filter. It was beyond filthy. I highly suggest doing both filters at the same time if possible.
