It all depends on your turbo system and components. Some have ran big turbos and blew up their engines while some have small ones and have had no issues. Your not specific.

What are you actually talking about? Engine or transmissions.

The engines are the same weather auto or manual.

Why don't you just go off and do some research, the interweb is a big place, there's alot out there.

Your still being vauge. But I'll give you a vauge answer and say they have done nothing. It holds boost just fine and dandy.

Then why were you asking about building the bottom end...?

Well as said, you're being vague.

The trans will take a certain amount of power, any more and it will break.

How much power are you aiming/considering/dreaming about ?
How many miles has your trans done?
How old is it?
Has it been maintained?

There is no rule saying your gearbox will how X amount of power/torque it varies.

If you actually want performance you should do a manual swap anyway.
Autos suck espically in FWD.

( comment for the nitt pickers that are just out to prove people wrong)
*Unless your building an all out mega power drag car, then autos are faster*
(though you'll never find a FWD toyota auto on any typr of race car.)

Also unless you provide some actual information (like say, what type of car you have) and/or do some research I think this thread should be locked.

It doesn't help anyone.

I agree with the question being vague, what year of Corolla do you drive? That would help out the people out there who know a little more to actually say yes you can.

I recall seeing an Automatic AE102 Corolla sedan with a Turbo 4AFE or 7AFE (can't recall) the car was pushing about 150-160hp or so with about 8lbs of boost, you can't run much boost on a regular OEM auto trans or you'll blow it. His car was actually faster or just as fast I believe as Aaron's (4AaronGE) car which is a GZE powered AE102 sedan.

my car is a '95 1.8 corolla, its got about 33,xxx on it and i was hoping for around 200whp, if possible and me asking about the bottom end as in what did you guys do to the bottom end of the 7afe to make them hold up better, ive done the required mantiance on it so yeah, its in good running condition and if i keep it auto, will it still hold up to about 10lbs if i build the engine up?

For 200whp not only will you have issues with the tranny getting the power down your also going to have traction issues (unless a lot of suspension mods are done due to it being FWD). Your car is a 95 and that is 10+ years, its not going to be in the same condition as it was new even if it wasn't driven a lot. Oh and engine and tranny can hold XXXX hp/tq and not XXXX lb boost since there are big turbos and small turbos. If you want speed go for a better platform, doesn't seem like you know much about boosting. Every car can be made fast but some require more money then others. Feel free to disagree with me but you'll realize once you come to your senses. But if you really want to build up the tranny, engine and get some suspension mods. How much money you got for this build?

none right now, thats the problem, but this car is gonna stay with me till the wheels fall off, and fell free to tell me a good setup as far as suspension, etc i know a lil bit bout boosting, just not a lot and i do want to do a 5spd swap so the power will be able to hang on and i plan a full engine rebuild turbo kit with a t3/t4 something along the lines of a .47trim or in that area to keep lag low and chipping the ecu, anyhting else i could do, thanks

If you're hoping for 200hp, the easiest no bullshit way of doing it would be a 3SGTE swap.

Go Twincharged 4AGZE, but building up an automatic transmission that will reliably handle that power won't be cheap.

An engine swap and/or an engine swap paired with FI would be ideal (one that will require little to no mods for the engine swap). Try to find a lower mile engine or a JDM if possible since those are usually not ragged on (depending on your supplier). A manual transmission would be better since it allows more control of your powerband and its more fun. How small a lag do you want? Low as T3 Super 60? More? Less? Plan out your part lists for the turbo setup and work from there. And start getting funds
