Basic maintenance questions?

Hello,
Have an 03 corolla that just turned over 50,000. miles. Not a SINGLE problem.
Always change the oil under the 3000 mark, flushed transmission at 30k, and will do again at 60k.
Is there anything else I should be doing at this 50k mark ? Timing chain/belt?
You 100k guys, let me know please.

I am not sure what to do at the 50k mark but at the 100k mark you need to change your timing belt and water pumps in the car for good maintenance.

How are your brakes?

If you are hard on them, you might need new ones. I just hit 50,000 in my 01 and I have had to replace a set of pads and then get new rotors, pads, and my drums rebuilt.

If you need new brakes, you might want to check your tires as well.

also, don't forget to make sure your spare tire is at the correct PSI. (over infalte it a couple psi so you have some leeway)

the owner's manual should have a maintenance schedule, otherwise the haynes manual will definitly have it.

If you intend to do any work yourself, you should grab a haynes manual because it makes great reference. They're well known to be useless in most cases...but how else are you gonna know torque specs for the exhaust mainfold or something?

edit: crowbar is burning out his brakes at 50k??? holy crap, you must ride the brakes like a bicycle. I'm at 135k and still on original brakes....

Bad info there my friend

There's no "timing belt" in a 03 corolla it's a timing chain and doesn't need to be replaced at 100K...Also if your water pump is not leaking and working fine at 100K why replace it, that's just a waste of money!
