Latest Corolla generation

Was wondering those of you who have the latest generation how you like em, any quirks, any mechanical problems, your mileage (total not MPG) I'm looking at them to replace my mothers Saturn (shudder)

It's okay. The main odd thing is the electronic throttle - it likes to rev when you dump the gas to shift.

Funny, I replaced my 2001 Saturn SC2 with a 2007 Corolla S. I've had it for 3 weeks now and can't really complain about anything.

Saturn's are crap. Especially those made in the early part of this century. Eveyoneone I know has major mechanical problems with them when they hit 130,000km. Automatic tranny seems most common althought ligs like power steering motors, shocks, etc also show up.

I have to wonder if GM is making their autoparts out of used paper cups...

I have an '07 LE. Purchased last October. 6700 miles. Manual transmission. Shifts smoothly. I get 35 mpg in the suburbs and 42 mpg on road trips. No mechanical problems. Everything works fine. No rattles. I am very pleased.

Canada

I bought an 06 Corolla ten months ago and I have put 100,675km's (62,000 miles) on it and so far it's been a dependable car with no major problems except for the fuel evaporation canister needing to be replaced at 80,000k's and the biggest problem that I have had/have is the front seats are crap and I had it replaced at 55,000k's and it's due again. But all in all it's been a great car..
