AE101 tranny?

I just got AE101. All stock.
Engine: 4A-fe
Transmission: C50

I noticed that the 5th gear of C50 is still big that is why the RPM is too high at high speed as compared with other cars.

I am currently looking for a transmission that has low gear ratio at 5th gear that would fit on 4A-fe.

I found out C151 has good ratio, which I am looking unto.

C151----------3.545 - 1.904 - 1.233 - 0.885 - 0.725
C50-----------3.545 - 1.904 -1.310 - 0.969 - 0.815

Will C151 would fit on 4Afe?

I am also thinking of modifying the 5th gear of the my C50, will this be ok?

c150 - Fitted to 2e-elu (and other lower spec models) EP71 Starlets.
They ran from nov 1984 through to late 1990 I believe although on the lower spec EP80's I think the same box is used.

c152 - Fitted to 2e-telu (Turbo S Version) EP71 starlets. Slightly different ratios and they have a slightly stronger input shaft. There are some slight casing changes.
Both the c150 and c152 come non-lsd although one can be fitted. As far as I'm aware only TRD make these and they may be discontinued.
c52 - Fitted to 4e-fte (GT) EP82 starlets. Much stronger than the c15x's listed above, larger diff and gearsets. Very similar to 4age c52 internally although do have a different final drive ratio and casings. The bellhousing for example is a fair bit different.
Thanks to everyone that helped.

Is there a transmission which 5th gear ratio is 0.7xx that would fit on 4afe engine?

Current transmission ratio is not good enough for a high speed at lower RPM.

Sure. I'm pretty sure the 20v black top 6 speed will fit. I know you said 5sdp but 6 is good too. It should pull a little better through the gears also.

Short answer no.

From what i've seen of C series boxes you probably could swap the internals from a 1zz corollas gearbox, giving you a slightly higher top.

But really why do you think you need a higher gear? if it needed it toyota would have done it.

You could just buy some bigger wheels or taller tyres if it's that big a deal for you.

Internals from a 1ZZ-FE gearbox most likely wont go into an early C series transmission.

What you can do probably is to use the bellhousing from an early C series and stick it that way onto the car.

Anyway, I am getting a hard time for this transmission.
Maybe I should stick with the stock one and change the car if budget permits in the future.

I am this anxious because as I compare this car with my previous car (Mits Lancer - 4G92), the corolla consumes a lot of fuel and has high RPM at high speeds.

Any suggetion how to lessen fuel consumption?

My average consumption is 25-30mpg. From what I know, this is normal.
