Transmission fluid change

Whats best????......just draining out what you can get out of the pan, or the full fluid change that can be done?

I have a 2000 with 140,000 kms on it and over the past 7 years I have had a drain and refill done 3 times at the dealer, they replace approx. 4 ltrs of fluid.

I know a very good trans. shop in Toronto and they said they would drop the pan replace the filter (does anyone know if the Corolla 4 spd. auto has a filter, I thought it just had a screen) and cycle out all the old fluid and replace with fresh....it is not a flush more of a transfusion.....any advice??????

Toyota generally only has a screen in the pan. For my 2000 Camry, the Hayne's manual said if the pan is dropped, the screen is just rinsed with fresh fluid to clean it out. I think the gasket for the pan also needs to be replaced when dropping the pan.

The lines that run from the transmission to the radiator can be used to change out all the fluid. However, this needs to be done with the car's pump and the fluid should not be forced through the transmission by the machine's pressure.
